Our dear friend and fellow PEERS member, Masud Sarwary, experienced a momentous tragedy with the loss of his son Oliver shortly after delivery. In Oliver’s memory, we decided at our last PEERS meeting to make a $10,000 donation to the NICU at Rady’s Hospital in Oliver’s name.
Donation Link > Honoring Oliver Stafford Akbar Sarwary, our angel in heaven Thank you to everyone who has donated in Oliver's name! This means more to us than you could imagine. Please consider helping us honor him in the place that was his home. We are reaching for a new goal of $75,000 to name a room after him in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. Oliver Stafford Akbar Sarwary, decided to make his appearance three months before his due date. Weighing just 1 lb. 12 oz., he's our angel in heaven now, and we will miss our son and Alexander and Chloe will always miss their little brother. In just 11 short days, Ollie taught us endless compassion, what the capacity of love truly means, and he continues to give us the strength to keep his memory alive. The doctors, nurses and staff were so wonderful to us during our time at Rady Children's. We want to be able to give a chance to other babies to receive the best possible care in the NICU, in Oliver's name. The NICU is close to our heart forever and always. The 53-bed NICU at Rady Children's is the region's only provider of Level 4 care, the highest designation available by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The NICU is a referral center for the most critically ill newborns. In addition to the NICU on the main campus, Rady Children's operates sic NICU's within other hospitals across the region. Philanthropic support allows Rady Children's to deliver world-class care to families like ours. Any amount in Oliver's name can help us succeed in saving babies lives. Donations are tax deductible. Thank you! |
