The PEERS Network showed it’s continued support of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) by taking on the 20th annual San Diego Triathlon Challenge, “the best day in triathlon.” Bill, Brian, Hany, Greg, Derek, Mitch, and Gregg were among the 750 participants in this year’s race, 200 of whom were challenged athletes. The 2012 San Diego Triathlon Challenge raised nearly $1.4 million for the Challenged Athletes Foundation to fund adaptive sports equipment, training and competition expenses for individuals with physical challenges so they can live full and active lifestyles.
We are pleased to announce that through your generosity and continued support, the 4th Annual PEERS Gala benefiting Just in Time for Foster Youth exceeded expectations again. With approximately 400 guests in attendance, we succeeded in raising more than $180,000 to assist transitioning foster youth in the San Diego community – bringing our total raised for Just in Time for Foster Youth to over $300,000. We could not have done it without your help! These funds will enable JIT to assist hundreds of transitioning foster youth with many basic necessities including food cards, school supplies, first home basics, clothing and transportation. On behalf of the PEERS Network we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our generous sponsors, guests, vendors, donors and volunteers. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the venue host, Mr. and Mrs. Lerach, the JIT Team and to co-chairs Dan and Jaime Feder.
