The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is a world leader in helping individuals with physical challenges get involved – and stay involved – in sports. CAF believes that participation in sports at any level increases self-esteem, encourages independence and enhances quality of life.
CAF just celebrated it’s 20th anniversary. Since 1994, more than $47 million has been raised and more than 8,200 funding requests from challenged athletes in all 50 states and dozens of countries have been satisfied. Additionally, CAF’s outreach efforts reach another 80,000 individuals each year. For 20 years, CAF has touched thousands of lives, in part by sharing the stories of our history, life-changing events, and the inspirational journeys of the challenged athletes who we support. CAF and its athletes have been featured in a range of media outlets including: TODAY, The Oprah Show, Dateline, Nightline, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and many more. In 2013, PEERS Network 5th Annual Black Tie Gala raised funds for the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
